Removable aligners in Vadavalli: how the treatment runs

Approve and make.
Once you approve the plan, your full series of aligners is made. Small tooth-coloured attachments are bonded to some teeth to give the aligners grip.

Wear and change.
20 to 22 hours a day, out only to eat and brush. Change to the next aligner every one to two weeks as we instruct.

Review and retain.

We choose aligners for the cases they are proven on. A systematic review of clear aligner treatment found them effective for mild to moderate crowding and spacing, and less predictable for large movements such as rotating round teeth or closing big gaps (Papadimitriou and colleagues, Progress in Orthodontics, 2018). That is why the scan decides, not the sales pitch.

Book your assessment

The wear time is the treatment. Aligners only work while they are in. 22 hours a day finishes on time; 16 hours a day does not finish at all. If that does not fit your life, braces will serve you better and we say so.

Invisible is nearly invisible. Small tooth-coloured attachments sit on some teeth for the whole treatment and are visible up close. We show you where they will go on the plan.

Retainers are part of the plan. Teeth drift back once the last aligner comes out. Nightly retainers hold the result. Individual results and timelines vary with the case and with wear time.
