    We numb the area with local anaesthesia and work with sterile instruments opened in front of you.

    Review.

    We see you in about 7 days to check healing and remove stitches. Most people are back at work in 1 to 2 days.

What should you know before booking oral surgery?

  • We remove a healthy wisdom tooth only when there is a clear reason to.
  • Jaw fractures and corrective jaw surgery need a hospital. We examine you and refer you with your scans.
  • Swelling for 2 to 3 days is normal. Stopping smoking for a few days helps you heal faster.

A Cochrane review found no strong evidence for removing healthy, symptom free wisdom teeth as a routine step (Ghaeminia and others, 2020).
