How much does a tooth cap cost in Coimbatore at our Vadavalli clinic?

CrownOur price per toothWhere it earns its price
Metal crown₹3,000 to ₹5,000Molars out of sight; thinnest and strongest
PFM (metal-ceramic) crown₹6,000 to ₹9,000Back teeth on a budget; can show a grey line at the gum over years
Zirconia crown₹9,500 to ₹35,000Strongest tooth-coloured option, no metal, front or back
Premium aesthetic zirconiaFrom ₹15,000Front teeth where translucency matters
E-max all-ceramic crown₹14,000 to ₹30,000Front teeth and premolars; closest to natural enamel

Prices are indicative and confirmed after clinical examination.

The zirconia crown price has the widest range because zirconia comes in grades, from a strong everyday cap for a molar to a layered aesthetic crown for a front tooth. We tell you which grade your tooth needs, not the priciest one.

Root canal with a crown: the combined figures

CombinationTotal range at our clinic
Root canal plus metal crown, molar₹9,000 to ₹12,500
Root canal plus PFM crown, any tooth₹11,000 to ₹16,500
Root canal plus zirconia crown, any tooth₹14,500 to ₹42,500
Root canal plus E-max crown, front tooth₹19,000 to ₹36,500

We quote the two together because a root-treated back tooth without a crown is lost at around six times the rate of a crowned one (Aquilino and Caplan, Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 2002). The root canal cost page has the tooth-by-tooth root canal figures.

Call +91 88705 04111 to book. A consultation and X-ray turn these ranges into the figure for your tooth.

What moves the crown cost up or down

  • 1

The material. Metal to E-max is a ten-fold range. The material is the biggest single factor and the one you choose.

  • 2

Where the tooth is. A molar needs strength and can take a metal or basic zirconia cap; a front tooth needs a match to its neighbours.

  • 3

What the tooth needs first. A root canal or a post and core is priced on its own and quoted with the crown.

  • 4

A crown or a bridge. A bridge is priced per unit, so a three-unit bridge is three times the per-tooth figure for the material.

  • 5

Replacing an old crown. Removing the old cap and checking the tooth under it is a small extra, confirmed at the visit.

Why is one clinic's crown so much cheaper? Check the material grade, whether a temporary is included, whether the bite is checked at fitting, and whether the tooth under the cap was X-rayed first. A crown cemented over a problem is a crown that comes off with the problem still there.

Which crown is worth the money for your tooth?

We recommend a metal or PFM crown for a molar out of sight and zirconia or E-max where the tooth shows, and we say plainly when the cheaper one is the right choice. All four materials are well proven: a systematic review put five-year single crown survival at around 91 to 97 percent across materials (Sailer and colleagues, Dental Materials, 2015), so the extra you pay for zirconia or E-max buys appearance and metal-free comfort, not a longer life on its own.

What shortens any crown's life is decay at the edge, grinding and a chipped surface. Individual results vary with your bite and how the edge is kept clean.

Paying for a crown or bridge

The crown is paid at fitting, one to two weeks after shaping, and any root canal at its own sitting, so the cost is spread across the visits. We accept cash, UPI, debit and credit cards and net banking.

We tell you the figure for your tooth after the examination and before we shape anything, and if the plan changes during treatment, we tell you before the cost does.
