We look at the gums, the bone and any remaining teeth on an OPG first. If some teeth can be kept to anchor a partial denture, we say so. If implants would hold a denture far better for you, we say that too, with the price of both.
Complete denture, partial denture or BPS: which we recommend and why
We recommend BPS when you want the closest fit a conventional denture can give, and an implant-supported denture when the lower jaw has shrunk too far to hold one. Complete tooth loss is common enough that the choice matters: the WHO estimates it affects around one in five people over 60 worldwide (Global Oral Health Status Report, 2022), and a well-made denture is what keeps eating and speaking normal for them.
